GOP Gun Control Flipflop Orchestrated by NRA; "My God, now whitekids are being killed!"
Phonics Emphasis Pays Off: Republicans Can Now Read the Polls

Senate Republicans, following specific directions from their masters at the National Rifle Association (NRA), first voted this week to defeat gun control legislation proposed as a result of the isolated mass murders in Colorado. After the NRA looked in more detail at public opinion polls, they decided to cut their losses and gave orders authorizing GOP leaders to go ahead and pass the bill.

[The NRA is an organization of gun manufacturers who profit immensely by arming both sides in the ongoing civil war occurring in America's cities. A percentage of their blood money is paid as campaign contributions / bribes to Republican leaders.]

The NRA/Republican strategy seems to make no sense until one realizes that the entire act was orchestrated. The first Senate action defeated the proposed legislation by one vote. By carefully assigning votes to individual Republican Senators, the NRA ensured the defeat of the legislation, which merely closed a gaping loophole in existing law allowing anyone, no matter how whacko, no matter how long his or her criminal record was, to purchase unlimited numbers of guns at so-called "gun shows."

Republican Senators whose reelections were in jeopardy were permitted to vote against the legislation, up to the magic number of 49. By assigning the votes in advance, the NRA/GOP hoped to defeat the legislation while still not sacrificing any of its seats.

Unfortunately for the dying political party, the public once again made its wishes known emphatically: pass sensible gun control legislation or face the wrath of voters in the next election. As the slogan "We will remember," first used against the impeachment mafia, echoed across the country, the NRA/GOP panicked and engineered a quick reversal, passing the legislation.
