Holmes: 'God Doesn't Choose Sides in Elections' Crofton Online Interviews Reverend Chris Holmes
We asked Reverend Holmes about a link on his church's web site to a claim by televangalist Pat Robertson that God does indeed take sides in elections and that He apparently prefers Republicans.

Reverend Holmes said that he doesn't think "it's appropriate for a congregation, or for a pastor as leader of a congregation to come out in favor of candidates. You'll never hear that from me from the pulpit." He added that it was "our responsibility as citizens and as Christians" to decide how to vote.

When asked what he saw as the biggest problem facing Crofton, Reverend Holmes said that Crofton's greatest strength is also its biggest weakness. Crofton is a safe, pleasant place to raise a family, but that makes it tempting for us to ignore social problems that other communities and cities have. Besides, Holmes said, we can't really isolate Crofton from those problems anymore.
