Reader Feedback Issue

We devote most of this issue to a forum for our readers. Many people have written but asked that their comments not be published. Others have written and asked that their names not be published. We respect their wishes.

One reader who feels very strongly that our political coverage is inappropriate, and who gave permission for us to publish his name and comments, is Del Jenstrom, who said in part:

"What is all of this one-sided political garbage doing on a web site that supposedly represents the community of Crofton? ... You should be ashamed of yourself." For this reader's full comments, click here.

Other comments include:

"I love your whole site and wanted to copy it as an important historic record from 1999 ... We have historical collections at NMSU where documents are preserved ... Please see that this material is preserved." For this reader's full comments, click here.

Regarding a poem by Karen Winston that we published, one reader wrote:

"Awesome! Any way this can be forwarded to Senators during this impeachment trial, or perhaps made more public? I think this really speaks to the frustrations felt by many, and I know it speaks for me. Thanks."

What Else Is New This Month

"It's no mystery why an M.D. earns more money than a Ph.D. After all, we fear dying, not terminal stupidity." So begins a reader-submitted article entitled, "What Qualifies A Public School Teacher?" Click here.

"Who did the President touch, and where did he touch her?" is the political question of the day, as the Republicans continue their 'suicide at any cost' march to destruction. What will replace the G.O.P.?

Betsy Smylie died on January 2. Read how the Internet was used by hundreds of individuals to communicate and to share their loss, in Death on the Internet."

We have received additional comments about Maya Angelou's book, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," including one request to include our coverage as a source in a research paper. One reader said, "No matter how you try to justify the book or intellectualize its content and context. Its sheer pornography and its the kind of garbage that offers no redemption to anyone." To read her full comments, click here. To review our coverage of the controversy, click here.

Crofton resident Jennifer Patrizio is concerned about safety of joggers. She says, "I leave for work at 6:30 AM every morning and continually see walkers and joggers in the roadway who are dressed as dark as the night." To read her comments and suggestions, click here.

The Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church is offering a full range of activities during February.

The Crofton Kiwanis is running a large 50-50 raffle and there may be money in it for your club. Click here for complete details!
