Judiciary Committee Hearings Show Difference Between Parties
Republican Party An Exclusive White Male Club

Anyone who watched even a portion of the recent House Judiciary Committee hearings on impeachment could not avoid noticing the obvious differences in our two major political parties. The Republicans on the committee were exclusively rich aging white men, with only one exception, and that one exception was a rich white woman who had 'inherited' her seat from her deceased rich white husband, Sonny Bono, of Sonny and Cher fame.

The Democrats on the committee represented a cross section of America. There were women and men, old and young, black and white, liberal and conservative.

We noticed one other major difference. The Democrats on the committee consistently used rational, well thought out arguments. The Republicans made hateful, obnoxious and outright dishonest speeches designed to satisfy their fundamentalist right wing constituency.

The Republican Party is quite clearly committing suicide, marching toward a cliff and preparing to jump off, following the lead of the nation's number one hypocrite, admitted adulterer Henry Hyde, and both speakers of the House, admitted adulterer Newt Gingrich and admitted longtime adulterer Robert Livingston.

Do you really want to return to the 1950s, when all political power in this country rested in the hands of rich white men? If you do, follow the lead of Newt and company down the path of destruction, the utter destruction of our nation. If, however, you love the United States, if you want our country to continue to thrive in the coming century, support the political party that includes all Americans.

Again, the difference between the two political parties could not be more obvious.
