A Presidency and A Nation Under Siege
By Republican Right Supremist\Extremists
by Antonio A. Brown
October 5, 1998

In all honesty, I like most people was shocked at the revelation that our President involved himself in such a lewd sexual relationship with a intern, and that the relationship occurred in the White House. I am not surprised that the President when first asked lied. Who would be willing to communicate such detailed information concerning personal behavior of the same nature? No one would; I am certain!

I like most Americans have sat ringside and watched allegations levied against the President and his wife over the years at the urging of the Republican Party's leadership. Attacks on this President's Administration have been completely motivated by the self-righteous religious right arm of the Republican Party for the purpose of furthering their agenda.

What's the agenda? The agenda is simple! Supremist ideologies have been a part of this nation's fabric since its beginnings and until the 60's were practiced openly without any regard for law. Today the white supremist movement has changed to accommodate the period.

At the turn of the century the KKK had enlisted nearly 4 million members who frequently marched through America's streets. They had members who were prominent members of the United States Senate and Congress. All of which were Republican, I should acknowledge. From the early 1900's through the mid 1950's they championed the removal of all elected officials that did not agree with their platform of preserving this nation as an all white Christian nation. They also permeated communities of people of good conscious, both white and black, with fear.

After the 1960's Civil Rights Era the supremist movement went underground for the purpose of reorganizing, which included becoming more political and religious based. The product of this new structure presented the nation with the likes of David Duke!

As an activist who has tracked supremist movements and trends for nearly 18 years, it has been increasingly evident that we are seeing the results of years of planning about to come together unless the American people once again stand hand in hand against their efforts. The truth is the rhetoric of the Republican Right is almost identical to the rhetoric at the turn of the century. Strong Christian beliefs and values were the words they waved then, and now! They both wanted to reorganize the federal government for the purpose of limiting its ability to enforce laws and mandates on the states. Finally, both refused to support laws which protected individual civil and human rights.

Since the right-wing self-righteous acquired positions of power in both the Senate and the Congress they have abolished the legislative service organizations which once represented the voices of America's female population as well as its hispanic and black populations. It has held up critical human-rights legislation and fought to abolish laws designed to address centuries of racial discrimination. They have used ads depicting black females as welfare queens draining the system thus inaccurately informing the public. And Reagan-Bush used the Willie Horton picture to play to the fears of whites concerning the black male and his so-called inherent criminal nature. All divisive tactics to say the least!

Now the objective has moved to using the Independent Counsel's Office as a means to an end, tactics that when I challenge my memory remind me of the way Hitler operated during Nazi Germany. I am completely convinced that the agenda of the Republican extremist must be investigated, not the President!

While Clinton did involve himself in an inappropriate liaison, his actions did not undermine this democracy. However the willingness to release information which should have been sealed has damaged the very principles of the democracy which America stands upon. If anyone is to be punished for high crimes it should be those members of the Republican Party responsible for this undermining, outrageous behavior.

It seems to me that after 40 million dollars and several years of attempting to crucify this President and his Administration the final result would have been that he sold political influence or secrets vital to our national interest; not that he entered into a mutually agreed upon sexual liaison with a young woman in the White House, and that he was not honest when asked about his involvement in the matter.

If President Clinton is impeached and the Republicans are able to do the same with regards to V.P. Gore around campaign fiance violations, the Speaker of the House Newt the lizard Gingrich will become our President. If this occurs, our nation and its citizens that are not American mainstream will suffer, make no mistake about it. The dialogues on improving race relations will stop as well as many of the nation's other initiatives designed to prove our democracy for all of its citizens.

Do we really want this to occur? What kind of America do we want? I can tell you that they aren't going to impeach Clinton and leave Gore to serve a possible 10 years as President, something that could happen if the President is impeached by Jan 1, 1999, and they know this all too well. Not only can Gore finish the term of the President, according to U.S. Constitution because he did not serve two terms as V.P., he remains eligible for two terms as President if the people would so elect him. So believe me the goal is to discharge both men from office.

Our President of these United States at present stands in the way of the completion of the Republican agenda. Right-wing extremist\supremists have spent the last twenty years setting the stage and have strategized to place their people in every aspect of human endeavor. They have formed organizations such as the Cato Institute and Christian Coalition to hide behind, to name a couple. They believe this nation has abandoned the white male and his family while favoring immigrants and minorities. They can be frequently heard asking for a return to the good ole days that the 30-40's represented as they commanded those years. They have fought to get their people into the highest political offices and the reconstitution of the state militias nationally as a way of ensuring they have military means.

When I elected William J. Clinton I knew I elected a man not a GOD, a man with the same potential for error as any other human. But I also knew that he would do what he felt was right for all of America! He's surrounded himself with a cabinet which resembles the nation's demographics and has fought for inclusion for all of her citizens.

If we abandon this President the nation will surely suffer. However, when it comes to the American people I am more certain than ever that because many of us have no recollection of the nation's hardships some 30 years ago, most people can't identify with the need to reaffirm our human and civil rights initiatives. Furthermore, I believe that we have truly lost sight of what's important thus paving the way for Corporate America and her Republican allies to take full and complete control over our lives!

For all of you who say that President Bill Clinton is responsible for the nation's moral decline I suggest that you look closer at yourselves and ask, have you contributed to the moral decline as well? Remember in our country nearly 50% of marriages end in divorce because of affairs outside of the marriage. And with that said, I can not help but wonder how many people out there who are casting stones at the President calling themselves guardians of the moral high ground are actually collectively responsible for much of the moral decline we see each day. I dare say that in each of our lives there exists questionable behavior or the world would not be in such a state of disarray. Let us put this behind us, and move on!

Contact your representatives and tell them that you have had enough. Reserve judgement for God!

We welcome your response.
