Belated Response to LEDLA
by a Transplanted Yankee

1. I certainly agree with you in your support of Hillary's right to becoming "violent and throwing things" at Bill. (You were quoting Dan Scholfield, I believe.) If it had happened to me, I would have been tempted to pull a Lorena Bobbitt. And I certainly do not condone infidelity "after marriage" in any shape or form. I would go even a step further. I believe fornication is also a sin. But I do believe that "There will be more joy in heaven over one (especially) wicked person who repents--changes his mind, abhorring his errors and misdeeds, and determines to center upon a better course of life--than over ninety-nine righteous persons who have no need of repentance." (Luke 15:7 Amplified Bible) Bill is very lucky to have Hillary. She is a loving Christian woman, and she loves her husband.

2. Yes, Bill lied. I do not believe all lies are equally harmful. Do you know any man--or woman either, for that matter--who will not lie about a sexual matter? I don't. But many of these "liars" would never lie about a financial matter or other equally important matter that was someone else's business. He lied under oath. You got me there. I thought he was too smart for that. I also thought he was too smart to be entrapped by a stalker. He might have made it if Linda Tripp had not resorted to illegal means to "get" him. Why isn't she being prosecuted? Too helpful to the Republicans?

3. Now about the injured military. By the way, I have great regard for the military. I am a veteran and the widow of a retired veteran. Neither in combat, but I arrived in London as the sirens were announcing the first buzzbomb (unmanned) and I have slept many a night in an air raid shelter. The military is not and, by its very nature, cannot be a democracy. We understand that when we enlist--and I suppose especially if we are drafted. Privates do not receive the same treatment as generals. We all thought Ike was a hero--and he was--even though we knew all about his philandering while on duty . I'll give you that he and his wife were separated by an ocean. According to Kay, the sex act was not completed--no sexual intercourse. Sound familiar? Anyway, the President wears two hats. This country is a so-called democracy. I expect my President to respond to the will of the people. I believe Bill Clinton has done that admirably. I always vote. I was an independent. I'm now a Democrat.

We welcome your response.
