When we asked Tim Shearer what kind of music he listens to, he at first responded, "That is awfully personal." In these days of officially sanctioned illegal taping, and Starr Republicans under everyone's bed, we were surprised by his comment. Then he explained. "A person's tastes in music identify what kind of person he is, don't you think," he said, not really asking a question. He then added, "You can tell so much about a person just by what stations his car's radio buttons are tuned to." I quickly made a note to check the buttons on my radio. For the record, Mr. Shearer listens to music on WRNR (103.1 FM) which he identifies as rock and roll. He can't think of the last movie that he has seen, and has little time for television. When he does watch, his favorites are sports and PBS. He has a wife named Patty Inglis, a daughter named Molly, age 8, and a son named Timmy, age six. His wife is a book designer. The flexibility of his current schedule allows him more time with his children, a fact that he relishes. His wife is sometimes jealous, he says. |
