A spreading national phenomenon struck locally in Crofton during the recent snow storm, as hackers defaced the famous brick "Crofton" sign at the main gates by Lake Louise.
Online security experts were called in to try to track down the culprits, who hacked their way into the Crofton landmark, adding the word 'Online.'
Chafin Industries, publishers of Crofton Online, denied responsibility for the virtual vandalism. "We will keep our eyes and ears open; if we hear anything about who did this, we'll notify the authorities," said publisher Jonathan Inskeep. "We are as anxious as everyone else to catch these people."
