Crofton Online: Starr Watch
Republican Kenneth Starr Obstructed Justice, Withheld Key Information From Congress
Tobacco Lobbyist Starr Keeps 25% Of Lewinsky Testimony Secret
Republican tobacco lobbyist Kenneth Starr, noted for his felonious leaking of secret grand jury information to favored members of the tabloid press, is withholding from Congress and the public an incredible 25% of the sworn testimony given by Monica Lewinsky before his grand jury. Republican Starr is also withholding a full 50% of the information Ms. Lewinsky gave to FBI agents investigating the President's private life under Starr's direction.
It is easy to understand why Starr continues to withhold the information, because it cuts the legs off of his argument that the President suborned perjury. According to information obtained from sources at the Office of Independent Council, Ms. Lewinsky testified under oath, "I would just like to say that no one ever asked me to lie and I was never promised a job for my silence. And I'm sorry. I'm really sorry for everything that's happened." At this point Ms. Lewinsky began crying. Sources have also confirmed that much more information is being withheld from Congress and the public, at the direction of Starr.
Meanwhile, the investigation of Starr's illegal leaking of secret grand jury information continues, with a criminal indictment of Starr expected. Starr, facing a lengthy jail term, still refuses to apologize to the President and the nation for the fifty million taxpayer dollars he has wasted in his right wing witch hunt.
The nation's tabloid media, including the Baltimore Sun (B.S.) and ABC News, have continued their defense of Republican Starr, labeling Congressional demands for the taxpayer-financed information being withheld by Starr as an "attack on Starr." Apparently their concept of justice is totally one sided. Starr can withhold whatever information he chooses, and leak the rest to eager B.S. reporters, while any legitimate defense of the President is labeled "shooting the messenger."
Crofton area congressman Wayne Gilchrest, meanwhile, continues his unabashed defense of Starr, insisting that impeachment hearings be held, though not surprisingly, he and fellow Republicans hope to put all on-the-record votes off until after the November elections. Political analysts agree that anyone voting on the record to continue this internationally embarrassing farce will face the wrath of voters in November.
Republican Gilchrest is running for reelection this fall. Stay tuned!
