Crofton Online: Move On
Hyde Says Republicans Have 'Constitutional Duty' To Ignore Voters; Vows 'Inquiry Will Go On'
GOP In shambles; 'Worst defeat since civil war,' says George Will

Congress has "a clear constitutional duty" to investigate the President's sex life even if voters feel otherwise, said confessed adulterer Henry Hyde yesterday [November 5], as he continued to thumb his nose at the American public. "This was just as true before the election as it is today. Our duty has not changed because the Constitution has not changed."

Meanwhile, rank and file Republican members of Congress plotted multiple coups against fellow adulterer Newt Gingrich and the rest of the party's leadership. "The jokes are starting to get stale," said one Republican. "Maybe it is time to move on."

Political observers are beginning to ask if Republican leaders can fulfill the duties of their elected offices while completely distracted by the rising tide of discontent from within their ranks. "The real problem is, someone has to go down on this one," said an insider familiar with Gingrich's thinking. "And everyone agrees that person should be Starr. Except Starr."

As usual, the key to all of this is money. Any time it wants, Congress can cut off money for the Starr Investigation. Let your Congressman know.
