Arundel High School

It is apparently the policy of the Anne Arundel School Board that any "official" school web page be carefully monitored. No links are allowed, under the theory that they could eventually lead to online pornography or some other unsavory site. In addition, the content on the pages is carefully controlled.
This is understandable, since the public schools are extensions of the government and are supported by tax dollars. However, the policy makes for a pretty boring web page, and doesn't allow students much freedom of expression.
The official web pages contain a lot of useful information. You can click here to access the official Arundel High School site.
Crofton Online, as a private entity, is not bound by such restrictions. It is our contention that high school students need a vehicle to express their opinions about, and frustrations with, the school system, their parents, and life in general. We have therefore made free space available to any Arundel High School student who wishes to use it. We will not engage in censorship of any kind, unless we are convinced that a posting is clearly illegal.
We call this endeavor the "Unofficial Arundel High School Web Page."
Since our first issue is being completed after the end of this school year, at present the page is still "under construction." Although we anticipate periodic updates this summer, the page will get into full swing in September. To view what a few students have already put together, please click here.
Vandalism and graffiti have traditionally been a problem at high schools. We hope that this page will offer students so inclined to "commit graffiti" in a nondestructive fashion.
If you are an Arundel High School student interested in posting something to this page, just let us know. If you are not a student, feel free to express your opinions about our intentions, or about anything you see on this page, by sending us email.
