Announcing formation of the
Arundel Internet Users Group
Join today. It's completely free!

Are you fed up with slow Internet access here in Anne Arundel County, while areas all around us seem to be getting the latest high speed - and low cost - connections? Have you ever wondered why Jones Communications always seems to be the LAST with innovative technology?

Are you concerned about privacy issues on the Net? Are you eager to participate in the new Internet-based economy, but worried that personal information may not be kept confidential?

Are you concerned about issues of free speech on the Net, yet also worried about protecting your children from the raunchier stuff that we all know is out there?

Do you have technical questions, or just need some help in getting a web page up?

Then the new 'Arundel Internet Users Group' is for you! Membership is free, and if you join now you can help us get organized. Just send us a note indicating your interest in joining and we will get right back to you.

We will begin by developing a mission statement and goals, and by setting up a FREE bulletin board and discussion group. Our meetings will all be 'virtual,' which means you can participate right from home.

Some initial goals might be:

* To pressure Jones Communications and Bell Atlantic, among others, to offer what the rest of the country seems to be getting: extremely high speed, low cost Internet access using existing cable and phone connections. We are all tired of the World Wide Wait.

* To use the Internet to force our elected representatives (local, state, and national) to be more responsive to our needs.

* To discuss issues of privacy, free speech, and online smut.

* To share technical information and assistance.

Interested? Then sign up today, or just let us know what you think.

Think globally, act locally.
